At one time a blockbuster success, but over the years proved nothing more than Tim Burton’s version of a character we have all grown up with. Far from Adam West’s campy, toungue-in-cheek TV show this Batman is dark, foreboding and mysterious. Jack Nicholson eats the scenery is his iconic role. Kim Bassinger is little more than a screaming, fainting femme fatale’ who eats away at your nerves for most of the film. Michael Keaton was a controversial choice but his version of the Caped Crusader has etched out its own legacy as the decades have passed.
