One of my last Oscar films to watch before the awards show. I have to say this was a pretty weird film. I was completely sucked in by the opening. It opens with some gorgeous cinematography paired with a wild seemingly supernatural/mystical element. But I had no idea what this was about going into it and I think this is one where I might have enjoyed it more if I had known that it was a semi-autobiographical coming of age dramedy. Still an enjoyable watch overall, as this film goes to some strange places—sometimes funny, sad, uncomfortable, or sweet.
