This was pure Saturday morning spectacle wrestling icons reimagined as cartoon superheroes and villains, with zero regard for logic and maximum commitment to fun.
Hulk Hogan leads the good guys against Rowdy Roddy Piper’s crew and the plots? Utter nonsense. Roller derby showdowns, haunted houses and beach battles, all animated with the subtlety of a piledriver.
The wrestlers didn’t voice themselves (which still feels like a missed tag-in), but the voice cast brought enough camp to keep it bouncing. Brad Garrett as Hogan? Sure. Gene Okerlund popping in? Why not.
It was less about accuracy and more about energy, like watching a fever dream fueled by action figures and neon cereal boxes.
Watching it on TV as a kid meant catching it between toy commercials and cereal sugar rushes.
It wasn’t deep, it wasn’t polished, but it was loud, colorful and weirdly comforting.
A time capsule of ‘80s pop culture when wrestling was mythic and cartoons didn’t need rules.
