autumnal vibes are immaculate. i love protagonists that are scoundrels. funnily enough, the conflict between humanity and nature that centers around the encroachment of human dwellings upon the natural world, forcing wild animals to adapt to urbanization and unconventional habitation bears a striking resemblance to the narrative of pom poko. very interesting how culture influences the art, as this definitely feels like a more lighthearted and whimsical take on the loss of nature in comparison to pom poko’s bittersweet conclusion.
