Good grief, this was difficult to finish. I've not seen the original, but I've heard it's better - to what degree I'm not sure, but this movie was definitely one that shouldn't have been made.
Absolutely horrendous acting paired with unbearable teen drama / trivialities make for a slogfest with a villain who isn't that compelling. The pacing was off, and the writing didn't help make this any better. Save yourself an hour and some change to watch something better.
