Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons

In 2068, the indestructible Captain Scarlet leads the agents of Spectrum in a war of nerves against the Mysterons, who seek revenge for the accidental destruction of their base on Mars.
Saw this one as a kid on TV.
Puppets with serious faces, explosions every five minutes and a plot that felt way too intense for a children’s show.
Captain Scarlet dies in episode one and comes back indestructible, already wild.
The Mysterons were creepy as hell. That voice, that glowing ring effect.
Spectrum had cool uniforms, color coded captains and a flying base called Cloudbase.
Felt like James Bond meets Thunderbirds with a side of paranoia.
Didn’t understand half the Cold War allegory back then, but the vibe stuck.
It was stylish, eerie and way more adult than it had any right to be.
