Percy Jackson is on a dangerous quest. Outrunning monsters and outwitting gods, he must journey across America to return Zeus's master bolt and stop an all-out war. With the help of his friends Annabeth and Grover, Percy's journey will lead him closer to the answers he seeks: how to fit into a world where he feels out of place, and who he's destined to be.
⭐⭐⭐ (out of 5) Percy Jackson and the Olympians – The Lightning Bolt Strikes Twice The new Percy Jackson series is a faithful return to familiar waters — perhaps a little too faithful. It retraces much of the movie’s path, polishing the effects, expanding the lore, but rarely venturing into new mythic territory. For fans of the books, it’s a satisfying corrective to the film’s creative liberties; for everyone else, it may feel like déjà vu with better CGI. The cast bring warmth and energy, especially the younger leads who sell both the wonder and weariness of being modern demigods, but the spark never fully ignites. Where the movie sprinted through Olympus with blockbuster bravado, the show strolls carefully, sometimes mistaking accuracy for excitement. Other myth-meets-modern-world tales (American Gods, A Discovery of Witches) have managed deeper resonance and bolder imagination. Still, it’s an easy, family-friendly watch that captures the adventurous heart of its source — even if the gods feel a little too mortal this time around. Pairing: A glass of chilled lemonade — bright, refreshing, and perfectly fine… but you’ve definitely tasted it before.
