The Sopranos

New Jersey mob boss Tony Soprano deals with personal and professional issues in his home and business life that affect his mental state, leading him to seek professional psychiatric counseling.
Great show. A slow burn compared to recent series and movies, but the storytelling and character building are standouts. Stories are driven by great acting performances and every character shines when given the opportunity. The violence is quick and brutal, which makes it feel authentic. Finally, the unexpected comedic elements cut through the grittiness and heavy themes.
