Stormy Weather
The relationship between an aspiring dancer and a popular songstress provides a retrospective of the great African-American entertainers of the early 1900s.

Stormy Weather has a thin plot, serving mainly as a framework for musical and dance numbers. Bill “Bojangles” Robinson and Lena Horne bring undeniable star power, their presence still charismatic decades later. Supporting performers like Fats Waller and Cab Calloway essentially play themselves, but their performances add real vitality. The film’s strength isn’t in its story but in showcasing some of the most outstanding Black performers of its era.
