⭐⭐⭐½ (out of 5) Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol – Puzzles, prophets, and déjà vu in the halls of history. “The Lost Symbol” brings Dan Brown’s signature blend of symbology, secrets, and shadowy societies to television — and while it’s perfectly decent, it never quite escapes the long shadow of its cinematic predecessors. Following a younger Robert Langdon as he deciphers codes and chases conspiracies through Washington, D.C., the show feels familiar in every sense of the word — clever, fast-paced, and unmistakably Dan Brown. There’s plenty to enjoy: intricate puzzles, ancient rituals, and the usual dose of cryptic Latin, all delivered with that mix of historical intrigue and high-stakes melodrama that made the novels so addictive. But if you’ve already seen The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Inferno, this series will likely feel like a well-worn map — the journey’s still fun, but you’ve seen most of the landmarks before. That said, The Lost Symbol makes good use of its episodic format, allowing more time to explore characters and context than the films ever did. The production is polished, the pacing brisk, and the tone comfortably familiar — intellectual without being intimidating. It’s an enjoyable watch, just not a revelatory one — a solid mystery adventure that checks all the boxes but doesn’t quite redraw the blueprint. For fans of symbology and suspense, it’s worth decoding… even if you already know where the clues lead.
