In the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes, the story departs from the traditional portrayal of the character. It leans more on action rather than logic to propel the plot, transforming Holmes into more of a superhero than a traditional detective. This intriguing twist, which may not sit well with purists, succeeds largely due to Robert Downey Jr.'s performance, which brings a new energy and charisma to the character.
