Kristen, a troubled young woman, is captured by the police after burning down a farmhouse and is locked in the North Bend Psychiatric Hospital. Soon, she begins to suspect that the place has a dark secret at its core and she's determined to find out what it is.

Last and sadly least of John Carpenter's movies. To be fair, the directing is very good. But this isn't a Carpenter script, a Carpenter soundtrack or a Carpenter edit. This wasn't the glorious return to directing a feature that his fans had hoped for after his two excellent "Masters of Horror" episodes. Instead it was a pretty generic horror story with some good directing that never once felt like a John Carpenter movie.
