Rough. Granted this has been happening to people of color for a long time but this lets white people know it could happen to them!
Feels very Japanese influenced! lol themes of bureaucracy akin to Ikiru and corporate overreach affecting vulnerable people akin to Evil Does Not Exist (I know it came after that’s just my recent point of reference) even somewhat spiritual.
Some powerful acting! Laura Dern’s performance is iffy to me but I can’t imagine anyone’s reaction to being forcibly evicted so maybe it’s really good!
The old man ruined me.
Can’t justify working for evil. Can’t fuck over everyone just to survive. Can’t let evil corrupt your nature.
Somehow this is controversial but I think housing is a basic human right
