Roman Coppola tries really hard to make a Wes Anderson movie. But, even though he uses some of the same actors as Anderson, and the movie has the same quirky visual style and storytelling of the Anderson movies, this doesn't quite get there. It has a few funny or interesting moments...but overall it just goes a little too slapstick and gets too self-aware. I didn't hate it...but didn't exactly like it much either. The entertaining cast is really the only reason to watch.
