"The New Mutants" had the potential to bring a fresh and unique take to the superhero genre, blending horror elements with a character-driven story. However, despite an intriguing premise and a solid cast, the film ultimately falls short of delivering a memorable experience.
The movie struggles with pacing, feeling slow at times without building enough tension or depth to keep the audience fully engaged. While the horror elements add a different flavor compared to traditional superhero films, they never quite reach their full potential, making the film feel like it's holding back from what it could have been.
On the positive side, the cast delivers good performances, with some characters standing out more than others. The visual effects and setting create an eerie atmosphere, but the screenplay and dialogue often feel uninspired, preventing the story from truly taking off.
