Fantastic movie that's just as relevant today as when it was first released in 1949. It's about an innocent, dignified black man wrongly accused of murder in the Jim Crow South, facing mob "justice". The way the crowd became ravenous. Just assuming he was guilty based on the color of his skin was shocking, but it reminded me of our current times, as people get pulled off the street and disbelieved, and deported without process. History may not repeat itself, but it sure does rhyme in 2025.
