Ray Ferrier is a divorced dockworker and less-than-perfect father. Soon after his ex-wife and her new husband drop off his teenage son and young daughter for a rare weekend visit, a strange and powerful lightning storm touches down.

The original story is awkwardly paced to work as a film. Front-loaded with action and a bit of an anti-climatic ending. Even with that, the action here is feels viscerally physical and is full of impact.
It's likely helped by being made in the era that wasn't all-out CG but where the sprinkle of it on top works in a way so that elements can keep their weight.
The score also nods back to classic action films of yester-year. A solid action film the likes of which have since dried up.
