The first foray into live-action Joes is a decent one, but it's mired with these trivial on-screen relationships that detract from the core point - Cobra strives to take over the world, and the Joes come in to stop them. With dull twists that are predictable from continents away, it makes the film feel like a B-movie, despite the awesome fight sequences and wanton CGI destruction.
