Not enough focus is placed on the espionage elements of this spy thriller, eschewed instead for a pointless Helsinki syndrome love story. A high point for me was the surprisingly realistic depiction of landline phone phreaking, with this being one of the only films I've seen even attempting such a thing. Still, if you're looking for a Robert Redford spy thriller, Sneakers is a much more entertaining choice.
