Director’s Cut - The Curse of Forgiveness My biggest complaint about this, and perhaps anout Zack Snyder in general, is….dude…stop with the slo-mo. This would be like a 110 minute movie instead of 3 hours if you simply cut out all the slo-mo and played at regular speed. I get falling in love with the imagery and wanting to soak in it, but I think movie would be served better if we cut 15 minutes of slow motion grain harvesting. That said, I liked this quite a bit. Derivative, for sure, but it’s really well-realized. And I think I’m sold on never watching a Zack Snyder theatrical release again when I know there is going to be an extended director’s cut. I think I’m 100% in terms of preferring his extended cuts far more than his theatrical cuts. I know I’m sort of talking out of both sides of my mouth a bit (cut out all the unnecessary slo-mo! Give me the longer director’s vision!)…but I do think there is a way to balance those two a little better. I liked it though. Was a little bit let down at the very end where it seems like there’s groundwork laid for a story that we’re (likely) never going to get. Maybe this wasn’t in the theatrical version 🤷🏻‍♂️? Oh well.
