The series deals with Allied prisoners of war imprisoned at Colditz Castle and their many attempts to escape captivity, as well as the relationships formed between the various nationalities and their German captors.

The acting is superb. The character development is as well. This is perhaps the best pre Band of Brothers WW2 show ever made. Indeed, I would put it at the same level as BOB, except for the historical accuracy in Colditz is superior.
