I don’t remember where I saw it first, but I remember how it felt: like a story trying to sprint through a saga that deserved to breathe.
Even without knowing the books, you sense something’s missing.
The lore, the mystery, the emotional stakes, they’re hinted at, but never fully realized.
It’s not that the film is bad, it’s that it feels like a sketch of something grander.
You finish it thinking: this could’ve been so much more.
The concept of a crumbling multiverse is compelling.
But as a standalone film, it feels like a missed opportunity, one that might’ve worked better as a series (They say is in the making) or at least a trilogy.
