I still remember popping that tape into the VCR, the whirring sound as it loaded, and the grainy opening credits that somehow made the absurdity feel even more authentic. This movie is pure B-movie madness, cheesy, chaotic and completely self-aware.
It doesn’t try to be high art, and that’s exactly why it works.
George Clooney, before he became George Clooney, delivers lines with a wink that says, “Yeah, I know this is ridiculous.”
The VHS fuzz added a layer of camp that made the tomato gore even more ridiculous. It was the kind of movie you’d rent on a whim, then rewatch with friends just to see their reactions.
This isn’t just a film, it’s a time capsule of late-night rentals, pizza boxes, and rewinding tapes to catch that one scene again.
