Scream Queens – Mean Girls Meets Murder
Scream Queens is what happens when Mean Girls gets locked in a slasher movie and decides to accessorise with blood instead of pink. It’s a semi-anthology horror-comedy where each season tells its own story — the first in a sorority house, the second in a hospital — connected loosely enough that you can watch either on its own.
The first season leans into every college horror trope imaginable: the vapid queen bee, the masked killer, and the clueless bystanders who keep wandering into danger. It’s been done before — many, many times — but the sheer camp energy and big-name cast (Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Billie Lourd) keep it entertaining. The hospital-set second season feels fresher, with new victims, new secrets, and just enough self-awareness to make the clichés feel intentional.
It’s glossy, gory, and unapologetically shallow — a designer-handbag horror show where the screams are as fashionable as the outfits. You won’t remember every detail after the credits roll, but you’ll remember the attitude.
Pairing: A strawberry daiquiri with a razor-sharp lime edge — sweet, stylish, and just a little bit dangerous.
