This formula is so replicable that many other films copy and paste it to varying degrees of success. What is the difference between Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and the rest? I would argue it is a solid script, the concise vision of director Brad Bird, and, of course, Tom Cruise.

Definitely better than the third instalment: a multitude of locations, plenty of original ideas, references to the series’ hallmarks (the harness, the masks) which have been cleverly reworked, understated humour without any clowning about, and finally spectacular stunt scenes – all of this added up to a brilliant bit of entertainment.
- James Saenz9. května 2025“mission accomplished!” tom cruise is finally letting loose with the physical comedy and simon pegg’s role becoming more prominent is only a benefit to this series. the burj khalifa set piece and espionage hijinks are genuinely exhilarating and the best parts of this film; plus the supporting cast is solid all around (god bless the casting directors for getting léa seydoux in this film she’s luminous). there are things to critique about it, like how the cg compositing has not aged well over time and how somewhat reserved a majority of the stunts feel in comparison to previous entries, but the experience overall is tight and fun the whole way through. brad bird’s direction is definitely an improvement over abrams’, but de palma’s is still my favorite. this definitely comes the closest so far to emulating the humor and atmosphere of the original and melding it with modern sensibilities. if the first half of woo’s sequel wasn’t so abysmally nauseating with its forced hetero energy it would’ve edged out this entry. if only there were an app in which i could discuss jeremy renner’s role in this film with other diehard fans.

Brad Bird's direction gives the film a slick, animated flair, with creative visuals and some of the most daring stunts in the series-most famously the Burj Khalifa sequence, which is worth the price of admission alone. Tom Cruise once again proves himself as a fearless action star, and the expanded team dynamic adds a lighter tone compared to previous entries. The humor and camaraderie balance out the tension, making this one of the more accessible films in the series. That said, the plot itself is fairly thin and sometimes feels like an excuse to move from one big stunt to the next. The villain, while serviceable, is forgettable compared to the franchise's best antagonists. Still, the pacing and spectacle carry the movie, ensuring it's a consistently fun watch. It has not the deepest story, but packed with breathtaking stunts and entertaining team dynamics, making it one of the franchise's most enjoyable rides.

Ruští představitelé jsou rozezlení na nejvyšší míru a mluví dokonce o válečném aktu. A protože se všechny nitky sbíhají právě u IMF, americký prezident dá pro jistotu od agentury oficiálně ruce pryč vyhlášením „Ghost Protocolu“, čímž ji odřízne od zdrojů, zázemí, podpory a z jejích členů udělá lidi na odstřel. To rozhodně není přehánění, krátce po tomto byrokratickém úderu umírá násilnou smrtí její oficiální šéf. Ethan Hunt se proto pokusí o nemožné. Společně s trojicí věrných a odhodlaných kolegů se pokusí najít pachatele útoku a smýt tak ze sebe veškerou vinu. Jak bylo řečeno už v úvodu, tahle mise bude skutečně nesplnitelná.
