- jackmeat21. srpna 2025My quick rating - 7.8/10. Since plex dropped that other action flick into my "Tis the Season" library, why not refresh myself with another classic? Last time I watched this, 1080P wasn't even remotely a thing. This movie redefined the buddy cop movie and solidified Mel Gibson as a top box office star. The chemistry between the two actors is what made this legendary. Not going to get too full-blown since I am sure nearly all have seen this. Still a good one to bust out for the holidays.

Mel Gibson and Danny Glover’s chemistry delights as the crazed young gun and the old experienced cop grow to respect and trust each other. Mel Gibson gives another iconic performance in his catalog of outstanding characters as the quirky and lovable but traumatizing Martin Riggs struggling to find a reason to hope. Danny Glover’s grouchy but endearing Roger Murtaugh is a perfect balance to Riggs. The two develop a loyalty throughout the film that makes the audience invest and care. At its core, Lethal Weapon is an epic action movie where the good guys kick some serious butt! For the 80s, this movie raised the bar for the action genre. My only complaint would be the first few minutes have some nudity that, if left out, would have made this a contender for the ultimate holiday action movie.

Mel Gibson and Danny Glover have incredible chemistry, and the dynamic between their characters is what really makes the movie shine. The mix of intense action, smart writing, and a little humor is perfect. While some parts feel a bit dated, it’s still packed with great fight scenes and memorable moments. If you’re a fan of 80s action, this is definitely a must-watch.

Černošský seržant Roger Murtaugh, který má pár týdnů do důchodu, dostane za parťáka bílého seržanta Martina Rigse, který chtěl po smrti manželky spáchat sebevraždu. Martin je časovaná bomba a člověk netuší co od něj může čekat. Z počátku si nepadnou do oka, protože ani jeden z nich nemá zrovna v lásce práci ve dvojici. Společně však budou muset vyřešit případ nebezpečného gangu pašeráků drog. Úspěch tohoto dnes již kultovního filmu zaručil další tři úspěšná pokračování.
